Material planning before you order.
Estimate quantities and material costs using your dimensions and supplier quotes.
Before Pour helps homeowners and DIY builders estimate concrete slab volume and rounded order quantities, concrete block and paver quantities, and material costs. The concrete cost calculator works from a supplied volume and quoted unit price.
Enter your project information in US or metric units, choose any waste allowance, and include supplier pricing, delivery and quoted fees where supported. These are planning estimates; confirm actual product coverage, order increments and site requirements with your supplier.
Supplier-based pricing
Enter your supplier’s material prices, delivery charges and any quoted fees supported by the calculator.
US and metric measurements
Choose US or metric units to enter dimensions and review quantities. Currency remains USD.
Editable waste allowances
Choose an allowance for your project. Blank optional waste means 0%; confirm coverage and ordering requirements with your supplier.
Planning formulas and assumptions
The calculators use geometric formulas, unit conversions and supplier coverage inputs to provide planning estimates. Material costs use the prices and fees you enter. Confirm product coverage, ordering requirements and site conditions before placing an order.
Rectangular volume formulas
Rectangular concrete volume uses length × width × depth. When all three dimensions are in feet, divide by 27 for cubic yards; for depth in inches, divide by 324. Metric dimensions in meters give cubic meters.
yd³ = L (ft) × W (ft) × D (ft) ÷ 27
Masonry block unit standards
Block quantities use a nominal 8 × 16 inch installed face module, including the nominal joint allowance. The calculator applies waste to gross wall area and rounds the final order once. Deduct openings from the area you enter; corners, specialty units and layout adjustments require a supplier check.

User-entered waste allowance
Waste allowances are editable inputs, not fixed safety tolerances. Blank optional waste means 0%. Choose an allowance for cuts, spillage or site variation and confirm it with your supplier.

Estimate limits and supplier checks
Results estimate quantities and entered material costs, not installed project costs or structural suitability. They do not replace licensed structural engineering advice. Confirm actual site dimensions, product coverage, supplier minimums, delivery terms and any unentered costs before ordering.
